She is a holder of a PhD in Psychotherapy, an Msc in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Degree in Theology and Pastoral Care. She holds two undergraduate degrees in Education and Counselling.Dr Machinga is currently completing her ordination process as a Deacon within the United Methodist Church and has been involved in the activities of the church at both local and international levels.



She is currently teaching in the Department of Psychology in the College of Social Sciences, Theology, Humanities and Education. Prior to this engagement, she served Africa University as Interim Dean of Students from 2016 to 2018 as well and a Counselor. She was an Adjunct Lecturer at Africa University from 2013-2016, Graduate Teaching Assistant - Claremont School of Theology in USA - 2010-2012 as well as Director - Family Resources and Service Centre - 2007-2012 at same institution. Dr Machinga currently supports the Ministry of Health and Child Care – Mutare General Hospital as a Counsellor on a pro bono basis. She has worked in the non-profit sector as a Programme Manager for Simukai Child Protection Centre - 2000-2008. She is also an educator , having worked as a Teacher with the Ministry of Education from 1987-1998.



Rev  Maudy Muchanyereyi

She holds a Bachelors Degree in Divinity from Africa University and a Masters in Business Administration from Midlands State University. Prior to this appointment, Rev Muchanyereyi was engaged by the United Methodist Church (UMC) leading a congregation with +1000 congregates. She comes on board to Africa University with 17 years of service in ministerial work.



She has served as Pastor in Charge for the UMC Amaveni circuit in Kwekwe in 2001, Concession Circuit - Harare west District 2002, Pastor in Charge for Budiriro South circuit - Harare Central 2013 to present. She has also served the church in other capacities as Statistician for the Zimbabwe West Annual Conference 2006-present. She is a registered Marriage Officer in Zimbabwe since 2012. Rev Munchanyereyi has also worked as a Schools Chaplain for Murewa Mission Schools from 2005-2012.   She comes on board as the first female Chaplain for the university which is a huge milestone.

A holder of a Masters of Science Degree in Construction Project Management National University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Technology Honours Degree in Water Resources Engineering from the same university. He is a professional member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers Membership and Engineering Council of Zimbabwe.



Engineer Parurai is an experienced Civil, Structural and Water Engineer with Project Management experience from the Public Sector (Zimbabwe National Water Authority ) , Local Authorities , (Redcliff, Hwedza, Bikita ) Tertiary Education ( Reformed Church University )  and Commercial sectors ( Mimosa Mining Company and Econet Wireless Private Limited). He comes on board with 16 years of working experience and has wide experience in Civil & Structural Engineering Construction, Water and Sewer reticulation, Building Design and Construction, Project Costing, Road and Storm Water Drainage Construction, Production of Bills of Quantities and maintenance works.
