Greetings! Welcome to the College of Business and Management Sciences (CBMS) at Africa University, Mutare, Zimbabwe, which will be your home for the whole period of your studies. Our College is an excellent choice to attain your degree in Business Sciences, Peace, Leadership, and Governance studies. Each of these degree programmes will prepare you for a successful career. View Dean's profileThe Africa University, College of Business and Management Sciences (CBMS) strategically locates Africa University to be a centre of leadership development in Africa. The CBMS is internationally recognised for providing excellent business, peace and security, leadership and governance education in Africa. The College is organised into two departments providing qualifications ranging from undergraduate to doctoral degrees.
The mission of the College is to provide programmes at under- and graduate levels, which produce and develop managers and other business professionals capable of utilising human and other resources to meet development needs and take advantage of the opportunities of Africa within the global context.
To be students’ preferred choice for high-quality business, entrepreneurship, strategic leadership, corporate governance and public policy education delivered in a conducive God-fearing and Pan-Africanism environment by 2026.
The two departments within the College are led by Heads of Departments, namely Dr. Tawanda Nyikadzino and Dr. Patrick Korera. Dr. Nyikadzino heads the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, which offers seven programs: Marketing, Public Administration and Management, Management, Human Resources Management, Master in Business Administration (MBA), Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA), and Master in Public Policy and Governance. Dr. Korera heads the Accounting and Finance department, which offers a Bachelor in Accounting, a Bachelor in Economics, and a Master of Science in Applied Accounting.
The College offers well-established programmes anchored on Education 5.0 and Africa University’s vision of promoting Pan-Africanism. The College serves a broad range of stakeholders within both the public and private sectors. It is housed in the Professor Rukudzo Joseph Murapa Institute of Peace, Leadership and Governance building.
