Department of Public Law

The Department of Public Law seeks to contribute to Africa University and the Law School’s overarching imperatives; variegated national policies and particularly Education 5.0, and also strives to incorporate contemporary and progressive notions of international and comparative public law. A non-exhaustive list of these includes: constitutional law, natural resources and extractives law, climate change and environmental law, energy regulation, public international law, refugee law, human rights law, to mention but a few. Staff in the Department teach the aforementioned modules for the undergraduate LLB Program. In addition to teaching LLB modules, staff in the Department of Public Law are members of other Units in the University focused on key thematic issues related to Law.
