About the About Programme

This program is aimed at improving livelihoods and community development through adoption of innovative agricultural technologies through training appropriate human resources at tertiary level. Graduates from this program are expected to enhance community development through capacity enhancement for improved agricultural productivity. It is expected that these graduates would assist in improving the capacity of communities to harness their resources and skills effectively and efficiently.

These graduates will focus on holistic agricultural development and aim at improving yield, quality and strengthen the agribusiness activities of communities through encouragement of suitable technologies and sustainable integrated production systems. This will enhance communities to engage in viable agribusiness enterprises to take the beyond subsistence agriculture and improvement in food and nutrition security.

 

Entry Requirements

  • Passes with credit in at least five GCE Ordinary level subjects including Mathematics and English Language

AND

  • At least two GCE Advanced level/ High school or equivalent passes

OR
A diploma in fields recognised by Africa University senate.

    2. Agricultural input providers
    3. Agricultural marketing organizations that serve he business of smallholder farmers
    4. Local authorities that deveop agribusiness empowerment for communities
    5. Agricultural marketing organizations that purchase agricultural products from communities.
    6. Microfinance institutions that target smallholder farmers in communities.
    7. Industrial entities that work with value addition.
    8. Organizations that work with value addition
    9. Gradiates should also be able to create employment through development of agribusiness projects.
